The Black Cat offers a private dining and event space called The White Room that can accommodate dinner parties, cocktail parties, receptions, and screenings for up to 30 guests for dinner and up to 45 guests for receptions and screenings.
Menu items for parties of up to 12 guests include liver pâté, house made pickles, seasonal jam, grainy mustard, country toast, duxelles, caramelized onions, dijon, emmenthal, bechamel, pain de mie, chive, Raclette burger with various toppings, red wine braised beef cheeks, beer battered local rock cod, seared chicken breast, 8 oz masami grass fed flat iron, and more.
In 1967, The Black Cat was targeted in an undercover police sting on New Year's Eve. The police raided the bar and arrested several patrons for engaging in what was considered lewd conduct at the time, sparking a demonstration by the LGBTQ community in response to the arrests.
